TRIGGER WARNING: These videos contain discussion about hunting deer. If that kind of thing bothers you, do not watch. There are no graphic depictions or graphic descriptions of dead animals (it’s just me blabbing).
I’ve been quiet for a while, mostly because I fucked off to deer camp for a few days and there isn’t internet there. That’s good for a couple of reasons. For one, I got a LOT of editing done. I only have 9 chapters left to get through! I’ve also cut a total of 21K now!!! WOO!!!
I also think that everyone should unplug once in a while. From the computer, from the phone… away from social media and distractions. It was very peaceful, and I quite enjoyed myself.
I’m back now… but we’re leading into the holiday season. Tonight I’m making cookies and processing the deer that I just butchered. I also have a friend over from out of state. Tomorrow and Christmas day I’ll be spending with family. On Friday, my husband and I are going out of state (Dec 26-Jan 2) to spend with my in laws.
I may film some vids while I’m out there… but sorry in advance for the radio silence. Thanks for following!!!
About oneofthedragonsSamantha K. Balk and F. R. Donaldson met on An Archive of Our Own, one of the many fanfiction sites online, when Sam asked Frankie to illustrate the fanfiction that would one day lead to Sam's first novel. They've been friends ever since! This blog was created as a way to share the oftentimes difficult journey any new author experiences on the uncomfortable quest of an introvert for attention to his or her most personal work. It is meant to remind you that authors don't just appear fully fledged like a George R. R. Martin, that all of us start out unsure and feeling inadequate. Feel free to ask us anything.
